Convention Information

The AFSCME Maryland Council 3 Special Convention will convene at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Live! Casino and Hotel Maryland, 7002 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover, MD 21076 and adjourn upon the completion of its business.

Parking & Getting to the Event Center

There is complimentary parking in the garage of the Live! Casino. There are two entrances to this garage. To ensure the closest parking to the Event Center, choose parking levels 3 or higher, and park to the back close to rows E and F. The elevator bank will be labeled on the right. Take these elevators down to the Casino level which will let out into the transition area. Then turn left into the Event Center area.

Our Convention will be taking place in this Event Center.

Registration

Registration will be open on Friday, July 7 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, July 8 from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Event Center lobby area. We encourage you to register on Friday if possible to avoid long lines on Saturday morning. Those who register on Friday will receive an extra entry into our raffles on Saturday.

As the Convention Call states, registration will close at 10:00 AM. You must be registered by 10:00 AM to participate in convention business.

Hotel

Please note that anyone staying in a room will be responsible for incidentals. You will need a valid credit or debit card, and a $150 hold will be placed on your card and last up to 5 to 7 business days.

Please check out on Saturday morning prior to the start of Convention. You can leave any luggage with the front desk of the hotel.

T-Shirts

If you do not already have an AFSCME Maryland Council 3 t-shirt, please let us know your t-shirt size here so we have a t-shirt for you at Convention. Please do not fill out this form if you already have an AFSCME Maryland Council 3 t-shirt.

If you do have an AFSCME Maryland t-shirt already, we encourage you to wear your shirt and AFSCME green!

Donations for Brooklyn Homes Families

The Brooklyn Homes Community Center is seeking donations for families affected by Sunday’s violence. They are looking for gently used and new toys, board games, and books for children.

If you would like to donate any of these items, you can bring them to our AFSCME Maryland Information Booth in the event space lobby area at Convention.
