Baltimore — On Thursday, March 21, AFSCME Maryland announced endorsements for the following Baltimore City offices:
Annapolis — Today, AFSCME Maryland Council 3 members and leaders attended a signing ceremony with Governor Wes Moore to finalize a new three-year contract for state workers represented by AFSCME.
This signing represents the final step to formalize the contract after over 99% of eligible state employees represented by AFSCME voted in favor of ratifying the agreement in a mail ballot vote.
Overall, workers covered by this contract will receive pay increases ranging from 5% to upwards of 20%, depending on job class, agency, and years of service.
Workers overwhelmingly choose to form their union with AFSCME Maryland
Howard County — Over 200 library workers at the Howard County Library System have overwhelmingly voted to form their union with AFSCME Maryland Council 3. The election was conducted by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) over a four-day vote period from Monday, February 12 through Thursday, February 15. Workers voted 151-19 in favor of their union.
The city’s general government employees have spent the past year tirelessly organizing after the city charter was amended to allow for collective bargaining.
