General Assembly Session: Local 112 Legislative Issues

Every year Maryland legislators introduce dozens of bills directly impacting the important work Local 112 members do. These bills redefine child abuse and neglect, how to determine potential income in child support, misdemeanor crimes for failure to report and list goes on.

Every proposed bill adds to our workload without adding additional staff.

We get a lot of attention every year in Annapolis. It is our duty and our right as professionals to evaluate and advise law makers on these bills. No one knows better than we do the potential impact of this legislation on our work and the quality of services we provide to the citizens of Maryland.

That's why it's critical that members of Local 112 make their voices heard during the 2018 Maryland General Assembly Session. Here's how you can get informed and involved:

  • Complete our Local's online survey: What should our Local’s position be on each bill? This information is critical in helping our Local identify 112 members who want to make sure our voices are heard in Annapolis. We're looking for members who are willing to give bill testimony as well as inform and mobilize their co-workers in their workplaces.
