Wednesday, December 13, 2017 — Our members fought for workers’ rights at the bargaining table with management in Baltimore this afternoon and in Annapolis this morning, testifying in support of increased staffing and safer working conditions. When we fight, we win. That’s why we’re keeping the pressure on the State in our fight for a strong contract and fair wages, Here’s what you need to know about today’s bargaining session:
- The State’s key budget report was released today, showing positive growth in the budget this year and next year. THERE IS MONEY FOR A RAISE.
- This report bolsters the fact-finders’ recommendations that the State can afford AFSCME’s demand for a $1,500 flat COLA and two step increases for bargaining
unit employees - We need to push them to give State employees the raises they deserve.
- Plan NOW to get involved in the upcoming Legislative Session where we will fight for our raises and our rights.
