No Contract Agreement Reached by December 31st, 2020

On January 1st, the same day, Maryland announces the second-highest positivity rate since the pandemic began; we also announced that we have failed to reach an agreement with Governor Hogan.  We are unwilling to accept less when we deserve more.

AFSCME Members Testify to the Challenges of Working During COVID, Understaffing 

On December 16 the Maryland House Appropriations Oversight Committee on Personnel held a special briefing on the challenges for state employees of delivering services and supports to Marylanders while being understaffed AND working during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Frontline Workers Deserve More

In many ways, the past year has been unprecedented and still increasingly shown the Governor's poor treatment of frontline public employees. When the pandemic began, many state agencies were severely understaffed limiting their ability to effectively perform state services.
