No Longer Employed Update: Emergency Pay Grievance Payment Update

If you signed on to the largest grievance filed in state history and have left state employment- please review this important update about the payment process. As you probably heard, the state and AFSCME have settled this grievance and as a result, the state owes you a $2500 bonus for the settlement.

Those no longer employed by the State of Maryland will need to fill out federal and state income tax forms returned them to DBM or MDOT at the address below – this is also how they will verify your mailing address to send the settlement check to. This information will also be mailed to your most recent address on file or your email if available.

Former employees must return this form to the State by U.S. Mail postmarked no later than May 1, 2022, to receive the payment. The deadline is absolute and cannot be changed.  You should mail the forms as soon as possible – well before the deadline.

If you live in Maryland, the District of Columbia, or West Virginia, please fill out the tax form for your state and return it to the address below. Please also fill out the attached W-4 form with your state tax form.

If you are not currently living in Maryland, the District of Columbia, or West Virginia you need to fill out the MD tax form included and note that you are exempt from MD taxes (you will have to declare this income in your state). Please also fill out the attached W-4 form with your state tax form.
