Secretary-Treasurer Lee A. Saunders recently recognized AFSCME Maryland Local 539 members on the 50th anniversary of the local's charter.  

"I want to congratulate President Moe Said and AFSCME Local 539 members for 50 years of fighting for the rights and respect on the  job we deserve for making Maryland happen", said Saunders.

The Local Union which represets state employees at Springfield Hospital and in Carroll and Howard Counties was chartered in 1962.
