Correctional Officers Killed During Inmate Transport in Georgia
On June 13, two correctional officers with the Baldwin State Prison in Georgia were killed by two inmates who escaped from custody during transport.
The officers, Sergeants Christopher Monica and Curtis Billue, were disarmed by the inmates before being shot and killed, according to the Georgie Department of Corrections. Georgia Drivers Education Inc., an organization facilitated by former law enforcement officers, has started a [baldwin-state-correction-officers] GoFundMe page in their honor.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the fallen officers and their families.
