Competent AND Compensated!   arrow

Thanks to the hard work and relentless efforts of AFSCME Local 112 members and Social Services workers, DHS will finally be compensating Child Welfare workers fairly for their
skills and dedication on the job.

After meeting with legislators, marching against management and tirelessly fighting for fair compensation throughout the past year, Local 112 members have won!

Beginning January 2, 2017, DHS has increased the salary step for Child Welfare Social Workers below a step 9 so that ALL Child Welfare Social Workers are at a step 9.

The upcoming paycheck on January 25th will reflect the increase in salary. This would not have been possible without AFSCME Local 112 and is a reminder that when we stand and fight together, we WIN!

The fight for fair pay for all social workers and state employees continues!
