AFSCME Statement on Chancellor Robert Caret
Accepting $105,000 Raise in Secret, Closed Door Meeting

Baltimore ‐

“It is a slap in the face to university employees in Maryland for Chancellor Robert
Caret to accept a $105,000.00 raise in a secret, behind closed door meeting.
Many university employees, scraping to get by will receive a 2% merit raise this year
for all of their hard work. We expect this from Wall Street but for Chancellor Caret to
accept a $30,000.00 raise and a $75,000.00 bonus in a secret meeting is disrespectful
to all of the hard working women and men who work for our universities and colleges
in Maryland.”

‐ Patrick Moran, President, AFSCME Maryland Council 3
